EDGE and Leonardo have announced plans to establish a joint venture focused on advanced defence sensors and systems, expanding cooperation between the UAE-based technology and defence group and the Italian aerospace and defence company.
The partnership will focus on developing and manufacturing advanced defence technologies, combining Leonardo’s expertise in sensors, electronics and defence systems with EDGE’s industrial capabilities and growing technology ecosystem in the UAE.
The proposed joint venture is expected to explore opportunities across advanced sensors and integrated systems, supporting requirements in areas including air defence, surveillance, electronic warfare and other defence applications.
The cooperation is intended to strengthen industrial capabilities in the UAE while creating opportunities to develop and market advanced defence technologies for international customers.
The partnership also builds on the growing relationship between EDGE and Leonardo, with both companies seeking to combine their respective technological and industrial strengths to develop new capabilities and expand their presence in international defence markets.
