Indra has reached a new milestone in air traffic management by completing the commissioning of four control centres in Argentina, India, Indonesia and Peru within a single week.
The company developed the projects and supported their implementation, validation and commissioning in partnership with the respective Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs): the Argentine Air Navigation Company (EANA), the Airports Authority of India (AAI), AirNav Indonesia and the Peruvian Corporation of Commercial Airports and Aviation (CORPAC).
The new systems enable integrated route, approach and tower management through advanced technology designed to enhance the safety, efficiency and capacity of airspace.
In Argentina, Indra has commissioned the control centre system at Ezeiza International Airport, the busiest airport in the country. The project forms part of a modernization plan aimed at unifying Argentina’s five control centres under a common technological platform and providing coverage across the national territory.
In Indonesia, Indra has completed the commissioning of the control centre system in Jakarta, which manages approximately 40% of the country’s air traffic. The project also includes the commissioning of a new voice communications system.
In India, Indra has implemented the system that will serve the new Noida/Jewar International Airport. The airport has been integrated into the main control centre in Delhi to enhance interoperability in one of the world’s fastest-growing air traffic regions.
In Peru, Indra has deployed the system for the national control centre, Lima International Airport and a network of remote towers. The facilities will also incorporate a new voice communications system to improve operational coordination across the country.
Víctor Martínez, Executive Vice President of ATM at Indra, said the commissioning of four air traffic management systems in a single week demonstrates the company’s ability to execute complex projects alongside air navigation service providers in different countries. He added that each project addresses specific operational requirements, contributes to airspace modernization and supports efforts to develop safer and more efficient air traffic management systems capable of accommodating future growth.
Over the past month, Indra has also commissioned its first radar for the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Putnam, Oklahoma, as part of a programme to upgrade the country’s radar system, which envisages the deployment of 185 devices. The company has also advanced the deployment of new radars in the United Kingdom, Turkey and Colombia, along with other international strategic projects.
