Embraer and Azorra have announced an agreement for the purchase of up to 30 E-Freighters, comprising 20 firm orders for passenger-to-freighter conversions and 10 purchase rights. The agreement follows the successful entry into service of the E190F in March.
John Evans, CEO of Azorra, said the partnership with Embraer has been built over many years and is based on a shared belief in the long-term value and reliability of the E-Jet platform. He said the E-Freighter is a natural extension of the platform, combining the proven performance of the E-Jet with a solution for the growing express cargo market.
Evans added that the investment reflects Azorra’s confidence in the aircraft and its ability to extend the useful life of E-Jets. He said the E-Jet Freighter is an ideal replacement for older 737 freighters, offering reliable Stage 4 noise-compliant operations and, through Azorra’s CF34 engine programme, operating costs suited to the market.
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said Azorra has been a trusted partner in the success of Embraer aircraft worldwide. He added that the agreement represents another important chapter in the relationship and provides a strong endorsement of the E-Freighter as demand grows for efficient, right-sized cargo solutions.
Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, said the E-Freighter combines the reliability of the E-Jets platform with Embraer’s support structure, helping operators maximise aircraft availability and performance.
He added that as the E-Freighter fleet grows, Embraer will support customers through its global services network, solutions and experience supporting E-Jets around the world.
Built on the E-Jets platform, the E-Freighter is designed to meet the evolving requirements of the express air freight industry, including fast deliveries and decentralised operations serving high-yield markets.
Combining its lower and upper decks, the E190F provides more than 100 cubic metres of cargo volume and up to 13.5 tonnes of payload, enabling the cost-efficient transportation of express cargo.
