Bombardier has announced the delivery of the first Global 8000 aircraft in Africa to BUA Group, a Nigeria-based multinational company with interests across cement, food, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, ports and terminals, and real estate.
The aircraft will support BUA Group’s long-range travel requirements, providing non-stop connections from Lagos to key business destinations around the world, including Los Angeles, Perth and Tokyo.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Chairman of BUA Group, said the Global 8000 offers the range, speed, comfort and reliability required to support the group’s international business activities. He added that the ability to reach more destinations non-stop while maintaining comfort and productivity onboard provides an important advantage for a group with international operations and commitments.
Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier, said the delivery of Africa’s first Global 8000 to BUA Group represents a significant milestone for both organisations and reflects their longstanding relationship. He added that Bombardier is pleased to support BUA Group’s international travel requirements with its flagship Global 8000 aircraft.
The Global 8000 is designed for customers seeking speed, range, cabin comfort and productivity for demanding intercontinental missions. The aircraft has a top speed of Mach 0.95, a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a cabin altitude of 2,691 feet.
The aircraft features four true living spaces, a dedicated crew rest area, Bombardier’s Smooth Flex Wing and the smooth ride associated with the Global aircraft family.
Hani Haddadin, Regional Vice President, Bombardier Aviation, said the company was proud to see the Global 8000 enter service in Africa with BUA Group, a long-standing Bombardier customer. He added that the Global 8000 represents the third new Bombardier aircraft delivered to BUA Group, reflecting the group’s continued confidence in Bombardier’s products, people and global support network.
