flynas, Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier, has agreed to acquire five additional Airbus A330-900 aircraft and 20 additional A321neo aircraft from Airbus. The agreement further strengthens the partnership between Airbus and flynas and supports the airline’s continued expansion across domestic, regional and long-haul markets.
The latest order increases flynas’ total commitment for the A330neo to 20 aircraft and brings its total commitment for the A321neo to 56 aircraft. With these additions, flynas’ total firm commitment to Airbus aircraft reaches 235.
flynas currently operates a fleet of 67 Airbus aircraft, comprising two A330-300s, four A320ceos and 61 A320neos. The airline continues to expand its network in response to growing demand for air travel in Saudi Arabia and beyond, supporting the Kingdom’s aviation growth ambitions.
Bander Al Almohanna, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of flynas, said the latest order is aimed at supporting the sustainable growth of the airline’s fleet over the coming years and the continued expansion of its six operating bases across the Kingdom. He added that it will also strengthen flynas’ operational and expansion capabilities for flynas Syria.
Al Almohanna said the increase in confirmed aircraft orders will enhance flynas’ ability to access new markets and reinforce its role as a logistics partner supporting Saudi Arabia’s position as a global tourism and travel hub. He also highlighted the airline’s contribution to the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program by facilitating access to the Two Holy Mosques and increasing overall aviation sector capacity.
Al Almohanna added that increasing flynas’ confirmed Airbus orders to 235 aircraft, out of a total orderbook of 280 aircraft, will further strengthen the airline’s operational and expansion capabilities. The expanded fleet will support growth and transformation across the Saudi economy, including major tourism developments and global events such as Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, said the additional flynas order highlights the continued appeal of Airbus’ latest-generation aircraft and reflects the strength of the partnership with the airline.
He added that the A321neo and A330neo offer efficiency, performance and passenger comfort, supporting airlines as they expand their networks while pursuing sustainable growth.
